Let me know what you think of these statements (paraphrased to protect the not so innocent): 1)"...Instant Web Master Video Set! In this step by step easy to understand video, I take you from a total beginner to capable web master in minutes..." Who is this person trying to kid? Capable webmaster? Now that's a pretty broad term isn't it? Now let's see... you don't know what the heck HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, "ColdFusion", Active Server Pages, "ODBC", and style sheets are, but you're going to be an expert on all subjects in a few minutes? Yea, right, I believe that. 2)"...You can make up to one hundred per hour from home spending as little as two hours a day using a newly discovered most advanced mouse point and click profit generating system in the world... Absolutely 100% Guaranteed for LIFE!..." Newly discovered? Most advanced? HUMMM? REALLY? Ok so I take this little mousy over here, and just point it at this little ditty, and click. Then I'm raking in up to a hundred bucks an hour? Again. REALLY? (notice the "UP TO" PART). Yea right, I believe that. 100% guaranteed? What are they guaranteeing exactly? That I can make from ZERO dollars up to $100 per hour? Now that's a pretty safe guarantee don't you think? Of course the marketing pros online know that 98% of all those who order the newly discovered marketing magic system will just "roll over", and not collect on the guarantee even if they don't make a plug nickel with it. They also know they can't really guarantee a set amount of money you'll make using their "...most advanced profit generating system...", because they can't guarantee YOUR performance. 3)"...You Can Make an Absolutely Guaranteed Minimum of $700 or More on the Net in only Seven Days or less Risk-Free..." Yea right, I believe that. Now read that paragraph again. Did you see it? The second word is "CAN" (key word). Notice they didn't say "WILL". You can, but not necessarily will make a minimum of $700 or more on the Internet in only 7 days or less... Risk free, because "again" they know 98% of you will most likely just "lick your wounds", and move on quietly if it doesn't pan out. Any way... I've been thinking about all the outrageous claims I see on the net for a while now, and really "digging into" the wording to see how they make it sound like a "no lose" offer to you. Are you starting to get the picture? I believe it would be fairly accurate to say that many unscrupulous marketers are using this type of sales copy all the time. Is it ethical? Borderline? Or just outright deceptive? You'll have to be the judge, and look at who the messenger is, not just the message, and that should help guide your decision on whether they are a credible source or not. If you're not sure, you can always consult me, and I'll give you my two cents as usual. :) So in conclusion: keep your eyes peeled, and stay informed on the latest marketing methods that are being used online, and offline, and more than likely you'll know as much as the "so called" online/offline marketing expert that is trying to sell you their wares. Yes, I can hear you asking yourself... So, why is the marketing expert making the big bucks, and I'm not?, i.e. you've been struggling for months, or even years, and to no avail, and the marketing expert is making it all look so easy. Here's the answer in most cases. The only difference between you and the marketing expert usually comes down to this: the marketing expert took action and applied his expert knowledge consistently going through the school of hard knocks. Plus the marketing expert had to learn how to deal with all kinds of people and personalities which helped him "grow up" as a professional business person people look for advice from, and you haven't yet. Because they know the money flows to those who can not only teach, but do what they teach in a big way, i.e. lead by example, because nobody is totally worthless, they can always serve as a good, or bad example to follow. Pretty simple concept that has been proven time, and time again (i.e. "nothing new under the sun" as it says in the Bible), so which example do you want to be? No brainer right? So if you're an Entrepreneur attempting to build business on a budget from home that is making about as much money each month to buy a McDonald's "Happy Meal" (or is that UN-Happy Meal?) all I can say to you is; you got your work cut out for you, so get cracking, because you can make money, or make excuses, but you can't make both.
