Viral Video Marketing - How T Create Video Buzz

We all would like our video's to go completely viral, wouldn't we? Well some of us for sure, while other marketers are just flat afraid of video marketing. I can tell you that probably most of the video's I've done have completely sucked, and still I am here alive and well, still making video's.

Here's one tip that may help your video's get not only watched, but people will stay glued to them. You know the average person's attention span is about 8 seconds. That's a mere 8 seconds to first grab somebody's attention, then another 8 seconds thereafter to keep it. So we will start with the thumbnail image that displays on let's say a youtube video. This is going to be the very first thing that people will be looking at when they view your video. I did a little experiment with youtube and found that the image frame youtube uses is directly in the middle on your video.

The next thing they will do is more than likely read the description. You want to have a description that reveals relevant context to what the video is about and at the same time leave them hanging. This way they are almost forced to see what your video is about.

Next we always want to remember that the attention span is only 8 seconds so when we edit our video we want to cut it up or have some kind of transition every 8 seconds. After all, we do want our video marketing to go viral don't we? This little trick has been used by the media for so long, they probably wouldn't even remember why they do it. If you don't believe me, just turn on the news and get a stopwatch and time the transitions. Commercial advertising does it to. Fast moving commercials with a lot of transitions.

Next you will want completely relevant information in regards to what your video is about, and you must provide some kind of value in your video. We are in an information based society and the people who are watching your video want some juice. So give it to them. It can be something very simple, and the important thing here is not to get hung up on it. Just simply provide some kind of value the viewer can take away with them, and if they find it valuable enough, they might even recommend it to their friends, or embed you video on their site.

Which leads me to the last and most important piece of the video. You want a strong call to action. Go ahead and ask them to rate your video, leave a comment, follow you on twitter, visit the blog or whatever. Remember that if you don't put a strong call to action in there, they won't do anything else but move on to whatever their brain tells them to.
