Thinking About Video Marketing? These Are The Basics To Get You Started

By: Gail L Ramberg

Video marketing is one of the easiest and best methods to get valuable leads to your website for free. You basically do a little analysis to find profitible keywords, make a very short video on a web cam/digicam/digital camera, etc, add tags and a title and put it on YouTube. Then you add the same video to many other websites on the internet.

Video marketing doesn't really cost you. The other big positive is that after you create videos and download them to lots of sites, they are out on the web ever and ever. When you do video marketing for a while and then focus on a different type of marketing, the videos you made remain on the internet working for your business.

Things You Need To Know:
*Remember your web page page url so they can easily take the following step
*Write 1 or 2 paragraphs describing your video so they will know what good content is included in the video that they'll want to see
*Include your keywords
*Be yourself and let your character show, but be sure to provide lots and lots of valuable info
*Use the main keyword in the headline for better results through the search function
*Always put your site name, your own name and a telephone number in each video description. People are ADD, you need to make it very easy for them to get in contact with you
*The length of the video should be 2-5 minutes.Respond to people who post so you continue to develop credibility with your audience

The basic content for your videos needs to include four main elements :
*An opening statement (sometimes called My Story) - this helps start making a personal connection
*The background - this generally talks about a common problem seen by you and the reader
*Your proposed solution - information the audience is looking for
*Call to action - here is where you tell them about your website. This is overlooked a lot but if you don't tell people what you need them what to do next, they won't do it.

When each video is completed, you'll distribute it to various sites. There are several different types of submission software to make this easier and you should obtain one of them. There are many options available and some of them don't cost anything!

One of the major changes in internet marketing throughout the last year has been the "YouTube Slap". You are going to want to distribute your videos to many video sites, but do not auto-submit to YouTube. It is a extremely strong marketing tool, but you must special handle YouTube. If you do not follow these principles, you will be banned.

YouTube Rules
*You should only have one account for your ISP address
*Never overpopulate your title, video outline or your tags with keywords
*Don't purchase YouTube views
*Never use any kind of software to add ratings, comments or friend
*Never upload unoriginal content
*Provide real worth and make sure to use your channel for more than just marketing your business
*Don't simply make it a sales pitch
*Think long-term with You Tube - You should really only be using YouTube to brand your business and yourself
*Don't use Traffic Geyser or TubeBlasterPro on YouTube. You can (and should) use them for other services but you cannot use them on YouTube.

Conclusion
Video marketing is a great way to get exposure for your business. Do your keyword research, include the four key elements, distribute your video to multiple sites and be careful with YouTube.
