After recently spending forty-eight hours in an emergency and operating room, I came to realize that aside from my family that my wellbeing was the most important thing in my life. I always heard from my elders that if you don't have your health you don't have nothing. My youth had left me behind and now I was suffering the consequences of not paying attention to the words of the wise.

Take a moment to admit that you don't have a strategy to provide for yourself or your family if you were to endure sickness or unfortunate mishap. Generally individuals don't know what would happen to their immediate family, house, monthly payments, or their job if something unexpectedly happened to them. Normal people with dreams and aspirations suffer similar circumstances. The majority of the population is in the same predicament. Do you have the power to make a decision that can eliminate the unexpected?

We have been brained washed with a false sense of entitlement. We think that we deserve to keep our jobs and that it's the responsibility of the companies we work for to take care of us as much as we care for them. The reality is that corporate America doesn't owe us nothing. Corporations and small businesses exist to make money. Whatever disrupts the work flow is regularly eliminated and replaced. When your physical condition risks the advancement of business you become the issue. As a worker it is evident that you are replaceable and the blessing of time is not on your side.

You stop being expendable when you take control of your immediate situation. When you are your own employer no one can dispose of you. The obstacle for most individuals is that they have been trained to follow for so many years that they can't get out of their own way in order to succeed.
