One of the things a business owner should have is a logo. Especially in their letterheads, business owners should be able to incorporate a logo to their letterhead printing for their target clients to recognize their image brand.

Sure, a logo is very important, that’s why many big businesses get top graphic artists to design their logo for them. But do small businesses also have to have one? Can a small business even afford to have their own logos?

The answer is YES to all of the questions. A logo is not only important; it is essential to any business.

Having a logo is that important because it is the very essence of your brand image. What you would want to have as your image to your target clients would be amply represented in your logo. Hence, it is a graphic representation of who you are, what you can do, and what you stand for. In short, it is your brand image. Your logo is YOU.

So whether you’re a small business or listed as a Fortune 500 enterprise, you need a logo to represent your business. You can’t very well market your brand image and have it stick in your target clients’ minds if you don’t have a logo to complement your name. It is your mark that can provide your target audience with a huge impact on your marketing campaigns.

So how do you create your logo? You have to have one thing: you need to capture the essence of your business. Who are you? What can you do? What benefits can you provide your target clients? What are your values? What do you stand for? By knowing who you are, you’ll be able to better communicate your message to your clients and prospects. You can also provide them a distinct offer that would stand out from the rest of the crowd. By letting them know what you can do for them, you’ll be able to convince them of your value.

The next question now is how much. As a small business, can you really afford a logo? Yes, you can. Although it is truly expensive to hire a graphic artist to create one for you, it doesn’t mean that you can’t do it yourself.

One of the most inexpensive means to have a logo for your business is to go to an online website and design your logo from their ready templates. The Internet is full of design sites where you can go and browse templates made available, sometimes for free. With these ready-made layouts, you can then customize the elements to fit the brand image you would like to convey to your target audience.

Then there are also start-up artists that you can explore to have your logo designed. Because they still need experience, they only ask for a much smaller amount as compared to those really popular graphic artists. But you have to remember to have a direction worksheet every time you have somebody design a logo for you. This would ensure that you get the design you want and on target with your brand image.

Having a logo is not only for big companies. As a small business, you can also have one. Not only that, but you need one. There are many ways to have your logo designed. All you need is to be careful and diligent when it comes to having your logo designed for you.
