The 7 rules for a Public Relations Brochure for Companies

By: MichelleM

So you have been tasked to print brochures for public relations purposes. Before you start your brochure printing, I recommend that you first read these seven rules for a Public Relations brochure for companies. These seven rules will help you do your brochure printing the right way for effective public relations. There is more to it than just printing out some text. There are several elements that must be done precisely to get the right kind of color brochure for a company.

So read on and try to remember all these rules for your own P.R. brochures.

1. Be impressive with your printing – Since public relations means putting your best foot forward, the first rule in PR brochure printing is to always be impressive. This means that you must allocate some money for quality brochure printing. You will need to choose the best paper materials, inks and of course the best brochure printing company that you can hire. You must spend all you can to get the most impressive brochure printing that you can get to maximize the impact of your PR brochures.

2. Include a well written company history – Now, since you are going to use a public relations brochure, it is an important rule to always include a well written company history. People need to know about your company in a PR brochure. They must know who the founder is, the corporate philosophy of the company, what it does and of course its achievements and strengths. Make sure that you hire a professional writer to do this so that you really can be sure that the text is perfect.

3. Be detailed and updated with your information – Now here is an important rule to remember. You must be detailed and updated with your information in your color brochures. You need to be accurate and up to date because people expect nothing less from a professional color brochure. If you are lacking in some crucial information, or present information that is not up to date, people will not really give your brochure printing the attention and understanding that it deserves. So make sure that you be detailed and updated with the information within your color brochures.

4. Write in the third person – It is an important rule to write in the third person when it comes to brochure printing for public relations. This means that instead of using “I” or “We” you use the company name such as “The Acme Corporation”. So for example you say “The Acme corporation excels at producing the best....”, instead of saying “we sell the best...” Writing in the third person for PR brochures is more professional because it helps the brochure to eliminate that style of self praising. Trust me, this make your custom brochures sound more professional. So always try to follow this rule.

5. Be practical and not too praising – In terms of the overall style of your writing, it is also an important rule to be practical and not too praising in your content. Nobody likes a “too good to be true” PR brochure with all trumpets and praises for the company. People will hardly trust anything the brochure says when this happens. So keep things practical, straightforward and just the facts. Reign in the embellishments and the extra adjectives so that people can respect your PR brochure and your company as well.

6. Always have impressive images – Now, here is a general rule you should always follow in all your brochure printing designs. The images on your brochure should always be as impressive as you can. It must be in high resolution and composed by professional photographers or layout artists. The images on your brochure directly reflects your business image for Public relations to make sure that you focus on this aspect to make sure your images are perfect for P.R.

7. Always include contact information – Finally, all PR brochures should always include contact information. This allows people to directly respond to what they have read on the color brochure. So make sure that you include everything from telephone numbers, fax numbers, mobile phone numbers, email and of course the company website itself.

Those are the rules for brochure printing for public relations. Follow these all and I assure you that you will get very effective and powerful P.R. brochures in your arsenal.
