So What Do You Need to Know to Successfully Run an Online ecommerce Business?

How many potential products could you buy online? You probably couldn't count them all in ten lifetimes, could you. Just type something in to a search engine and - Wham! - you get a ton of results, many times millions. There's almost no end to the stuff that will pop up with even the simplest searches. I know that one thing will definitely pop up - an E Commerce store that sells the exact thing that you typed in.

These E Commerce stores are similar to brick and mortar stores in that you can buy actual products on them, but there's a massive differenc. And you know what that is. It takes a tremendous amount of overhead to run a traditional business. It can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to open up a brick and mortar store.

There's all kinds of things to think about. Where is your store going to be? How many people will come upon your store during the course of their day? What about your investory? Do you have the necessary capital to start up this venture and purchase the inventory that you need? Are you going to work 20 hours a day to get your business going, or are you going to hire someone - more overhead - to help you out?

What a handful! Aren't you glad there's this thing called the internet? If you're not sure what that is, just Google it : ). A person could run an online E Commerce business for under $20/mo. after minimal start up costs.

What is the obvious question at this point? If it's so easy, then why isn't everybody getting rich off ecommerce?

I totally agree with you. You know, in a sense, it's no different from anything else you do in life. If you know how to do it well, then it isn't hard any more.

One thing for sure. You need a well thought out, well tested system that you can plug into in order to avoid potentially costly mistakes.

There's a heck of a lot to think about if you don't have the help you need to undertake something of this nature.

Are you a web designer? If the answer is no, then who are you going to get to do it? Where are you going to find the products to sell?

Are you going to inventory them, or set up a relationship with a vendor who can drop ship the items directly to your customer? This is, by the way, what I recommend.

That's all good, but where do you find the drop shippers? How do you research and find these vendors, and how do you establish the credibility to set up an account with them? And there is a whole lot more to be concerned with to have a successful E Commerce business.

That is, if you're trying to do it on your own, without the help of experts who have gone before you. In fact, for the average person, the chances of success at such an enterprise and next to zilch.

When you get past the initial set up phase of your store, then you have the issue of getting traffic to your site, so that you have someone to sell something to. Without the proper direction this can all be one tall order.

Get me out of here - next - correct? But wait - there's more... There are a few good products on the market that can take you from inception, all the way through the process, until your own store is a reality. Who knows, it could change your life forever, and provide you the freedom you've been searching for.

One little tidbit of wisdom that it will behoove you to know. Do your research, and thoughtfully look at opportunities before you, and keep an open mind. Who knows, you may have found exactly what your looking for : )
