Poster Printing Assumptions That You Should Rethink

There are a lot of myths in poster printing. These are the sum of various wrong assumptions and prepositions that people have about the nature of printing posters. In this article, I will help you to go beyond these wrong assumptions and go to the truth about poster printing. Since color posters are great tools that can help people in business, it is only prudent that you know the truth about them for your own benefit.

Large posters are better than smaller ones.

This myth is not necessarily true. There are distinct benefits that small posters have over large color posters and vice-versa. While large posters have the impact and presence to get the most impact on certain locations, smaller color posters will usually have the widest range and cover in terms of total area. So basically, you print large posters for great impact, while you print smaller color posters for better market coverage. Most businesses use a combination of both to get what they want.

Black and white posters are bad.

Most people will of course vote for full color posters as being better than black and white posters. Some may even go as far as saying that black and white poster printing is bad. The truth however is far from that. Black and white posters can still be quite effective if you know how to make them correctly. A nice black and white poster with good graphics can still overpower simple full color posters in many ways. So it is all about the execution and your creativity really.

If you need to cut down on the printing budget for posters, do not worry about having to use black and white inks to cut costs. As long as you are creative and cunning with your designs, you still have a fighting chance of getting a great impact from the market.

Expensive posters ensure great impact.

Printing expensive posters do not necessarily assure a good reception with your market. Again it is all down to the design concept really. You can have the best materials, the best special effects and the most expensive printing process for color posters, but if your design concept is bad or boring, nothing will come from it. So you don't have to necessarily spend a lot. Even cheap posters can have a great impact just as long as the design is thought of properly.

Quality is better than quantity.

Now, the usual mantra for most poster printing is that quality is better than quantity. However, you need to rethink this since when you look at it through a marketing perspective. Sometimes it is good to rely on the quantity of your posters to achieve marketing goals.

Producing a lot more cheaper posters will let you reach a lot more people in a lot more places when compared to quality posters for the same printing budget. So you do not have to be afraid of printing cheap posters since there is a good trade off between quality and quantity. You will be promoting to a wider audience with more numerous cheaper posters and that is not really bad if your real goal is total marketing.
