Political Internet Marketing 2010 and Beyond

As the 2010 elections come closer and announcements of more politicians throwing their hats in running for office it is obvious a very solid Political Internet Marketing campaign is necessary. Statistics show 93% of Internet users expect politicians to have a presence online and even a higher percentage expect them to be on several of the top 100 websites.

As an expert in Internet Marketing and a Social Media Marketing Strategist I see politicians following the same old school online marketing strategies.

Being on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Ning and Friendfeed is a must but only 1/7 of the websites you should be on for 2010 and 2012 elections. Anyone who has been in the Internet Marketing game knows being on 10 different websites was 2002 marketing. Republicans promise to get more aggressive online using Obama methods and Democrats cling to 2008 strategies and the new Democrats hype. Both parties most likely are missing the boat and not grasping the scope of Internet Marketing.
