Internet MLM Marketing, Creating Success with LinkedIn

By: Niamh Arthur

If you want to create massive MLM success using social media marketing, one of the greatest tools you can use is LinkedIn. Here is a summary of the technique I learned from the "King of LinkedIn" himself, Larry Beacham.

Always start a marketing technique by thinking about the people who are using it and what they want to get from it. You definitely can't jump on LinkedIn and start advertising your great new business all over the place. You can't try to connect with strangers as they simply click a button to tell LinkedIn that they don't know you.

LinkedIn is a networking page for professionals. LinkedIn users are usually looking to make new connections, find other businesses that can assist them, and help them grow their business or career. As you market you want to think of what type of mindset a LinkedIn user has. Generally they are there to learn tips, strategies, and tools for success. You must always, in any type of marketing, position yourself and your business based on what people using that platform will like to find. Keeping that basic principle in mind, here is a great way to start your LinkedIn marketing campaign:

How are YOU going to help?
LinkedIn is a completely different audience from other social networks. Here people appreciate professionalism, so don't have a family beach photo on your profile, and don't have a big explanation of your wonderful lifestyle. Have a nice professional photo on your page, discuss your background and business in a professional manner. It's important to show that you are going to be able to help someone in their goal, so you must position your business in that light. Who do you assist? What sets you apart as someone who has their solution? It certainly doesn't need to be unfriendly or stiff, but always professional.

How are you already Helping?
As always: provide great relevant content! People on LinkedIn discussion boards are looking to learn. As a simple strategy, join several groups that are specific to your target market. Create an article daily and make sure it provides them good information. Make sure it's information that can actually be applied immediately. Put the article in the discussion board for every group. If the content is good people won't mind the same article being on more than one board. Put your name, phone number and your website as a signature to the article, and people will visit your site.

How do you Connect?
You don't want to rush a connection on LinkedIn. The way you initiate a connection is important. Many people initiate a connection with people they've never interacted with. LinkedIn users tend to be slightly more careful in making connections as they don't want to give strangers access to their network of people and their contact information. Don't ask for a connection until you have had a conversation or some contact with them. If someone comments on your article, then invite them to join your network and remind them with a personal note that you shared a discussion. This tactic means that not only will almost everyone accept your connection, but once they do they are more likely to check out your profile, view your websites, and remember you.

As with all marketing you must remain consistent. Your online reputation is important and you are branding yourself as a leader. It is well worth the extra time to have leads that actually trust you and want to work with you. You need to apply this daily during the working week and you will begin to build a reputation as a leader and someone who delivers over and over again.

You have to become a leader to be a success at network marketing. People need a leader that they trust to guide them to their own success. Implement this today and then keep consistent. When I first started doing this I got 20 leads in my first few days, so be prepared for it to start working fast.

This is just scratching the surface of what you can do with LinkedIn. Get yourself educated, create good content, and prepare to blow the competition away
