How To Start A Successful Home Business On The Internet

Taking the leap as an entrepreneur is starting to become a very popular thing on the internet in today's fast paced world. With social media sites like Twitter and regular blogging services like Google's Blogger or Wordpress, it's simple for an up and coming entrepreneur to get the word out online about a new business. So what should you do?

With the expense of a franchise and tremendous market volatility, people are looking for more stable ways to earn more income and get into an online business. You could get into MLM or direct selling, you could create your own product. There are many different avenues with hundreds of angles you could take.

Here are 3 things I would do in today's internet dominated world if I were starting over.

Join a top tier direct sales company. In other words, a network marketing type business where you make your money on the front end by the sales of products rather than waiting for a down-line to grow and make you money. Look for a company with a good informative product line where the entry level product pays you around a $1,000 commission.

The startup fee should cost around $1,500 to $2,000 dollars.

With this type of commission structure, you can create cash flow from your own efforts. It also lets you afford to market your business like a real business due to the high commissions. With an MLM business, you are limited because you do not make enough money up front to cover your advertising and marketing costs.

So now you've become an entrepreneur. You have the ability to get paid for a product or service but how do you get your offer in front of the right people?

You must learn internet marketing. When someone enters a search on the internet they are expecting a result that will answer a question or solve someone's problem. Your job should be to answer the questions by getting your product, service or opportunity in front of these searchers.

Sounds complicated right? It's not. You'll need to setup a blog a blog or multiple blogs based on what you are offering, learn simple search engine optimization techniques, onsite and offsite and create good, relevant content. This is how you can start getting your website to the top of the search engines creating targeted web traffic which will turn into more leads and sales for your business.

So we've covered starting a business and learning online marketing on the content side but there is still another targeted form of internet marketing that you can get started with that is extremely powerful.

I'm talking about PPC advertising or pay per click.

PPC ads are the ads on the side of the search engines and are put there by advertisers based on the keywords that searchers are typing in. You can create multiple ads based on multiple keywords and if done right it can bring targeted traffic to your website creating more leads and sales for your business.

If your not careful you can end up loosing your shirt so be smart and start out small until you become more comfortable with your advertising.

The direct marketing industry is a great place to be if you have all the pieces of the puzzle and I believe top tier direct sales combined with online marketing is the best place to be due to the low cost, high reward opportunity.
