How To Have That Professional Look In Your Brochures

By: Chelsea Nicole

You have your brochure template. You’re already finished planning for your message and what you want to communicate with your brochure printing. You even had a professional printing company to provide you with brochure samples to guide you with your own brochure campaign. Next stop? Laying out your brochure that would be concentrated on getting you your target clients for your business.

So how do you design, write and print your brochures that would look professional and credible to your target clients? How will you create quality and effective brochures that can get you the results you want? Here’s how you can create brochure printing that you can really be proud of.

Headlines and content –
Ready-made brochure templates may be easy to use even to someone who doesn’t even know anything about graphic designing. But you still have to know how to insert your headline and content to be able to customize your template to your kind of business. Actually, it is very easy. It’s no rocket science surely. You just have to replace the text in the brochure samples with your own words. Then when you’re done, proofread your content. You wouldn’t want to be sending out your brochure template for printing and then seeing a lot of errors after they’ve already delivered the final output to you.

Photos and graphics –
This is again fairly easy with the right publishing software application. In my case, I usually apply HPs Microsoft Word using Photo Socket. It is an area in the software program where I can hold my digital pictures. After selecting the photos and images I want to include in my brochure printing, I go to Insert Menu, and then select the picture from my hard drive. It’s that easy!

Color –
Even when you’re working on a ready-made template, you don’t have to stick to the color that is already found in there. You still have to let your creative juices out and experiment with colors to apply in your brochure template. But do not also get shades that are inappropriate to the kind of business you have. Choose the colors in the same way you choose your clothes – you have to make sure that the shades can best reflect the brand image for your business. And then limit your choice of colors too. Too much and you’ll only disorient and overwhelm your target readers with all the clutter.

Saving –
The final step to designing your template is to save your work. This time, it can actually be easier said than done. It can be a tad difficult especially that you have images that would eat a bigger space. Particularly true for custom brochures for your different target clients. What you can do is to provide yourself with a back-up CD to save space in your hard drive. So that in the event that your computer suddenly conks out on you, you will always have a back-up for your files.

Test copy –
Finally, print your test copy before you send out your brochure template to your brochure printing company. Your test copy will give you an idea of how your brochure would look like in the final outcome.

You can also check and proofread your brochure while you’re at it. Make sure that everything is in its right place and that you have the right color to complement the brand image you would want to portray to your target audience.
