How To Get Started With Your Business Card Marketing

Business cards are meant to be distributed. You didn’t pay money for your business card printing just so you can keep them inside the box they were delivered in. If you believe you have the finest and most eye-catching business card printing, then the most effective way to make them work for you is to hand them out.

Don’t let your business cards rot inside the box. Get them into the hands of your target clients. Here are ways to get you started with your business card marketing:

Keep them available. In your pocket, purse, briefcase, wallet, on the table near the door, beside your car keys, and at the reception area in your shop or office. Even leave a few pieces in your glove compartment. By having them available, you’ll be able to hand them out every time you meet a new prospect.

Consciously make an effort to make your business cards part of your daily routine. Before you leave home, check your business cards along with your keys, wallet, money and credit cards. If you have a low stack, replenish your supply.

Use a nice business card case or holder. Not only can your case keep your cards from being dirty and bent, a nice and unique one can be an ice breaker to start networking your business.

Keep your information updated. Make sure when any of your contact information should change, you also update your business card. It leaves a not-so-good impression to write your new email address or phone number on your card just because you haven’t gotten to printing a new batch of business cards.

Place your cards everywhere you can. On bulletin boards in your community, at the cashier of your local restaurants, supermarkets, libraries, and even the church. Wherever there is a bulletin board make sure you post your cards.

Put your business cards in all your correspondences. Include them even when you’re paying your bills. Send your business cards every time you mail your thank you notes and letters. You’ll never know who might be opening your mail. That person might just be in need of your service or product.

Give people a reason to hold on to your business card. Print a calendar, important information, even a discount or a coupon that they can return to you to avail of a freebie. The important thing to remember is to have a reason for your recipients to keep your cards.

Finally, always make use of your business cards and hand them out to everyone you meet wherever you are. Remember that every person and each place you find yourself in is an opportunity to network and market your business. Use your business cards. Don’t forget that they won’t work if you just let them sit in a box or a drawer. All they can collect is dust and mites, not clients.
