Generating Quality BackLinks. 3 Little Known Tips Publicized

By: Cristian Lungu

What are your chances of striking an SEO bargain called free links? The answer would be: very slim chances. When you're on a budget and need a starting piece for online marketing, the biggest investment is time.

The reason for this is because you have to move in a thousand different directions to be noticed as a dependable supplier for your market place. Now, in order to get that extra push you have to add in your garnished monthly budget.

The best course of action remains getting passed the traditional link chase and start creating quality content, superior products or just an unique cool website that people want to link to and further recommend.

Here are some other places to look at for generating quality free back links:

1.Alternatives to classical content syndication

2. More subtle methods of getting back links

3. Social media as a link provider

1. Diversifying Content Syndication

Targeting relevant link sources is one thing, but convincing the other part to take positive action by implementing your link is a total new battle you must win.

Instead of barging in with your one sided proposal, a better approach is to show you available for creating a unique piece of content to be added on their site, with the afferent link pointing back to your own site.

Considering that innovation is rather scarce in today's web, you might even think providing a snippet of your future work just to make the proposal sound more professional.

All you need is ideas. If you're not a good writer you can always hire a ghost writer to do the job for you.

Lack inspiration in deadlines? Promote your older content with a ground up rewrite. This way you expose older content to a new readership and also improve the website's relevancy with those keywords variations.

The reason why I suggest alternating content syndication to private websites is because articles and press release directories have some important draw backs, like:

> wide time spans from submission until approval and actual indexing by SEs,
> lack of exclusivity as many writers wait in line to get promoted,
> here today gone tomorrow syndrome,
> not enough distribution power.

These are, by no means, generals faults encountered for all directories but there are plenty that fail delivering consistent traffic.

As a rule of thumb publish your content on websites with an Alexa ranking below 100.000 and at least toolbar PR 3, depending on your own. Another content marketing tip: see where big dogs of your industry publish content and appropriate their habits.

2. Testimonials in exchange for free back links

The beauty of testimonials is that they always come with a back link. If your counter part fails or refuses to do so, simply retract your approval.

Most of the time, testimonials are signs of mutual promotion between marketers that probably have a long history of doing business together.

All time, be sincere in your appraise because promoting junk products could hurt your credibility.

Best is to compose testimonials on products you've personally used or currently consume.

3. Using social media sites for hosting your links

Some easy to get free back links can be obtained from social bookmarking sites, granted that you stick only with the best rated platforms like Digg.com, StumbledUpon and Reddit.

Top bookmarking platforms, like Digg.com have 2 simple rules for content promotion. 1) Never be self promoting and 2) never use automation.

Apart from social bookmarking you can use social media platforms like HubPages and Squidoo where you create useful tutorials and "how to"s of interest for your niche.

HubPages and Squidoo ranking power is often neglected but the truth is that young business websites don't stand a chance against even newly launched pages (or lenses) on these two domains.

So, in order to expose your content rapidly, publish it on these sites, then improve the authority of these pages with a basic link building campaign. Finally, point some back links from these platforms back to your own site.

If you're thinking to use private social bookmarking projects powered by open source software like Pligg and Ning, don't waste your time. It takes forever for them to get indexed and even when they do, they maintain rankings.

If you're using submission software, filter out these types of platforms and focus on only the established services mentioned above.
