Are you tired of purchasing pricey lead lists only to be the 3rd person to pitch a MLM business to that lead? Tired of wasting your time talking to leads who don't care about your MLM business? You recognize that you must have people to talk to, BUT do you know how to get people calling you about your business?

Nowadays, the old ways of MLM prospecting are dead. No more making a list of your friends and family and talking to anybody who gets within 3 feet of you. With online marketing strategies and web 2.0 sites, it is easier to recognize people who are sincerely interested in your MLM opportunity. Implementing just a few online marketing strategies can generate you fresh, targeted leads each month.

A brief overview of blog marketing is a good place to start for now. In the future, we will explore the other marketing methods. Your blog is significant because it is the focal point of your MLM marketing strategy. A blog is where your prospects get to know you, your marketing style and you as a leader. Blogging is a really easy way to generate prospects because all you need to do is communicate some information about yourself and offer valuable content.

Hosting your own blog is the ideal method. All you need to get started is a domain name and a hosting service such as HostGator. You will set up a Wordpress.org site through your HostGator service. Another option is to set up a free blog at Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. Keep in mind you will not be able to completely utilitize SEO techniques needed to get your blog ranked by Google and other search engines.

It won't take you very long at all to get your blog up and running. Once it is published for the world to see, you will want to post content every day or every other day. Just be sure that they are related and keyword rich without cramming in the keywords. When you have good content, it won't be long before you are generating prospects.

There are a few key elements that you want to be sure have on your blog: an opt-in form, ways for the reader to connect with you, a way to subscribe to your blog and ways for the reader to share your content. Let's have a look at each of these elements.

Opt-in Form
An opt-in form is simply that. It is a spot where your lead can opt-in to your email list. This is where you capture your prospect's information: name, email and phone number. An additional bonus to make your opt-in form more appealing is a video training series or give away something of value that they can employ in their own business; it can be a free course, an e-book or free audio training. Make sure your Autoresponder is set up to send out the free gift and has a series of follow up letters.

Connect With Me
Another thing you want to make sure you have on your blog is a place for your leads to connect with you on your social sites like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter. Make it effortless for leads to connect with you by having clickable icons. Connecting with you on social networks allows them more ways to get to know you and receive more information from you.

RSS Feed
Additionally, you want readers to be able to subscribe to your blog through your RSS Feed. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. An RSS feed allows your blog readers to receive updates when you have a new post. This brings the reader back to your blog.

Share Your Site
This final element is made up of a few different parts. Readers need to be able to share your site. A few widgets and plugins will make it a lot simplier. They are a Facebook Like button, TweetMeMe and Sociable.

The next phase to blog marketing is to promote it online in as many different places as possible. This online promotion in social sites is like sending out an invitation to a party. Just remember, blogging is only ONE way to market your MLM business online. But the best thing about social sites and other marketing strategies is that they all work together to drive traffic back to your blog.

Successful blog marketing means NO MORE more buying expensive lead list and talking to negative people. The other beneficial thing is that what happens on the internet, stays on the internet! This is what is causing so many people to move from lead lists, hotel meetings and home parties to learning how to effectively market online.

There are so many ways you can market online. It's best to start with one or two strategies and get proficient rather than tackling them all at once. As you become more accomplished, you can add a few more strategies at a time.
