Different Ways In Organizing Brochure Content

By: Jenk

There are different ways in organizing your content for brochure printing. These organizational techniques will help optimize your message when you are printing brochures for business or for special projects. In this article, we will go through these different techniques together. Hopefully this will help you learn how to make your brochure printing more effective at communicating with your audience. Let us start with the most important kind of content organization technique for color brochures, user-centred content.

Reader centered organization – The first and most common way to organize the content of color brochures is the so called “reader centre” technique. In this organizational method, your content and your images are basically tailor made to match the needs, wants and tastes of a certain reader or market segment. These kinds of targeted brochures are ideal for use in awareness or information campaigns where you want certain specific demographic to understand and be aware of your message.

For example, pamphlets on sex education must have a more reader centered layout made specifically for teens so that they will be more amiable in getting and reading those kinds of brochures. The more reader centric the brochure is, the better its specific readers will appreciate and understand the brochure message.

Topical/Themed organization – The second most common way to organize your content in brochure printing is to organize it with thematically or with certain topic in mind. For example, you can have a color brochure that is “Menu themed” where the brochure is like a restaurant menu. You might also want to consider using a poetic theme, or even a movie theme to make the custom brochure look really interesting and dynamic.

Advertising brochures are ideal for this kind of organization since most of them are best designed with that creative and original theme layout in mind. So when you want to impress, organize your content with a certain theme or topic in mind.

Functional organization – Another common content organization setup for brochure printing is the “functional” method. In this method, the text content is organized so that the brochure can perform a specific kind of function, other than just pure marketing. For example, the custom brochure can be organized in a way so that it becomes an application form of sorts to help people avail of a membership or even some kind f special program or service. By doing this, you will get more use out of your color brochures. So if you need your color brochures to do something else, then you might want to adapt a more functional kind of content organization.

Information delivery organization – For brochures that are used as plain references, the best organizational method to use is the information delivery style of content organization for colored brochures. In this style, the content is mainly design for detailed communication of a message. All possible details are printed in the brochure, and the length and size of the brochure is usually altered so that it can hold the most amount of text.

Sales driven organization – Finally, we have the sales driven organization. Now this type of content layout is slightly related to the themed or topical type of content organization. The only real difference is that, in this type of layout scheme, there are more call to action elements that invite people to buy something. There can be text all around that says “buy me now” or it can be something like “hurry limited stocks only”. If you really want to sell something with your color brochures and not merely advertise, this is the kind of content organization that you will need.

So what do you think is the best content organization method for you? Try to choose carefully so that your brochure printing has no problems in the future.
