Blogging for MLM Success Part 1 gave you the underlying reasons why you need to have an effective blog. Yet, what are the specific steps to do it? You don't want to create a blog just for the sake of having a blog. This can truly hurt any previous attempt you have done to brand yourself on the internet. If you set up a blog that isn't high quality, this will leave a damaging impression in the viewers' mind. Once this impression is made, the requirement on your part to change it will be enormous. It takes about 7-13 seconds to make a first impression with your blog, so keep this in mind while you are constructingyours.

There are a few ways to get a decent blog made. The first way, and clearly the easiest, is to pay someone to set it up for you. There are expert website designers who make their living creating blogs. The amount you will have to pay, and the quality of the website can be noticeably different. So if you decideto go this route, I would do some research first. Betternetworker.com is a great place to go for references. Even if you do pay someone to develop your blog, you will need to take some time later to figure out how the site actually works so you are able to keep up with it. Other people prefer to set up their blog on their own because it doesn't involve any monetary expense. This option can take noticeably longer because there is a learning element involved. When creating a blog on your own, you first need to decide whether to use a free hosted blog, or to pay for a self-hosting blog. There is a big difference between the two.

Generally when deciding between paying for something or getting it for free, most people would choose the free option. Now when it comes to blogs, you have to think of your desired outcome. If you want to have a personal website for your friends and family to keep tabs on you, then the free version would suit you just fine. However, if you are trying to build a blog for MLM success, then this definitely isn't the case. What you're looking for is a self-hosted blog. A free blog will not give you the customization you need to brand yourself online. What's more with a free blog, you do not own your blog article posts. Your site is managed by the hosting company, and they have rights to your entire content. Your blog may be suspended without any warning if they feel you have violated any of their policies, and everything will be lost. I personally know someone who this happened to, and I do not wish this upon you.

Now there is a monthly fee if you have a self-hosted blog, because you are paying . Now this expense is very cheap and usually under $9 a month. The two companies that I would recommend for hosting are GoDaddy or Host Gator. These both have a one step installation setup for a Wordpress blog. I say Wordpress, because this is the most effective blogging platform out there. If you're going to set up one correctly, you want to use the one with the most options, and the greatest support. However, note that Wordpress has two different options. Wordpress.com is the free site, and Wordpress.org is the self-hosted site.

Now for the nitty-gritty details! If you are determined to start blogging for MLM success, then you now have the information to move forward. Yet, like I said, it can be problematical if you do not have somewhere to go for assistance. I created my entire blog on my own. Before creating it, I had never even attempted to create a site in my life. I had to learn some simple html and css (which I did by searching Google) to create the look I wanted, it took quite a few hours because I'm a perfectionist. However, I had the benefit of using a educational webinar that was over 1.5 hours of specific steps on exactly how to setup a self-hosted Wordpress blog for optimum success.
