Article Writing Guidelines – Guidelines to Writing Effective Articles for the Internet

High quality article or great content is the king in the online arena today. You need to create quality articles to receive the response and attention you require. Below are effective guidelines that can help you in writing articles that are most likely to capture the attention of Internet users and ezine publishers:

1. Write something worthwhile. The first thing to do is to choose your topics. When doing so, ensure that you stick with those ones that are worth your readers' time. I'd say talk about their goals in life and those skills that they would like to learn. It's also a great idea to talk about their problems and struggles in life.

You'll most likely to get your audience to read your articles until the end if you offer them something that they can actually use. I suggest that you teach them new skill that can help in reaching their goals. For example, you can teach them some SEO skills so they can secure better ranking for their affiliate website. It's also a good idea to help them solve their problems.

2. Address the needs and demands of your readers. What kind of information are these people looking for when they read your article? Are they looking for something that will help them reach their goals? Are they looking for answers or solutions to their problems? It's important that you know what drives these people to you so you can easily give them exactly what they want.

3. Write with a perfect solution in mind. If you decide to write about the problems of your readers, ensure that you offer them the best solutions. Tell them exactly what they can do to remedy the issues instead of just offering plain recommendations. Online users simply love it when somebody takes charge.

4. Do not plagiarize. Although it takes a lot of time and energy, it's important that you produce 100% unique articles. This is not only to avoid penalties from search engines and publishers but also to impress your readers. You can't expect these people to believe that you're an expert if you just copy your content, right?

5. Stick with truth. There are quite a lot of people who are resorting to outright lying just to capture the attention of their target audience. Well, let me tell you that this isn't the best route to take if you want to succeed online. People will not trust liars. So, stick with the truth all the time.

6. Title. Start by carefully choosing the titles that you're going to use for each of your articles. It's important that your titles are jaw-dropping or nail-biting. You would want them to be as powerful as possible as this is the only way to get online users to open your articles.

7. Use the inverted pyramid technique. You only have a couple of seconds to keep your readers interested. If you fail to do so, they'll close your articles even before they finish reading your first sentence. Don't let this happen by simply making your first paragraph very explosive. This must contain all the important and juicy information that your readers are looking for.

8. Keep it simple. Although some of your readers might a have higher educational background, you may also be serving those who are not using English as their main language and who easily get confused with the sight of technical words. You don't need to sound like Einstein when writing your web content. As you're writing for people who have short attention span and who are pressed for time, it would work to your advantage if you make your content easy to understand. Your visitors must be able to understand your ideas without the need to read your content over and over again.

9. Improve your writing skills. Sharpen your writing skills by perfecting your grammar and by widening your vocabulary so you can easily get your message across without a problem.
