Are Your Afraid To Become A Successful Networker?

Sadly, many people don't take action towards their goals because of the fear of failure. They are afraid to lose money, they are afraid to look stupid in front of other people, they fear being rejected. This fear can be tamed by putting oneself in the right environment and working on one's personal development.

The fear of success however, can be even more limiting than the fear of failure.

Believe it or not, some people become terrified when they think "What if I make it?". To become successful, change is required. This is makes people fearful.

If you're an active networker, you most probably will have visualised yourself as the successful person you want to be. You have visions of being surrounded by other successful friends, visions of being able to accomplish your dreams, visions of being kind and generous to others, visions of the possessions you have that reflect your success.

While these visions can be very powerful and positive, but it can also produce negative emotions because in your current situation, you still have a very long way to go.

You know you have to change your mindset. This is where the fear comes from. You lose your current identity when you become successful and that's why you're afraid. This leads to the fear of disapproval from people that are close, which may even lead to you losing your associations with them.

People are habitual creatures. Believe it or not, the things we think, feel and do today are 99 percent the same as the things we thought, felt and did yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. We, as humans, easily slip into "comfort zones" and mindlessly go through our daily routines as if we're robots.

To change our habits requires a lot of will power over many days. We think we can, but realistically, we can't just change our habits when we want to because we're addicted to the food we love, to smoking, to drinking, etc. We can't just suddenly start living healthy because it takes time and discipline to develop good habits.

Our habits are part of who we are. So when you make a decision to change them little by little, the people around you will begin to notice. They will see you making better life decisions like being less thrifty with your money, they will notice a difference in the way you speak, and for that reason they may not like the person you are becoming. The fear of losing one's associations and community can really sabotage success.

The other aspect to having a fear of success is taking on the burden of responsibility that comes with it.

In reaching the "diamond" level, you will have built an organisation of hundreds, if not thousands of distributors. Your phone may never stop ringing. Your inbox may get flooded with emails from people wanting your assistance.

And you think to yourself... "Oh my gosh, I don't want to have to deal with all that!"

But these are all things that might (or might not) happen, and fearing them can really limit your chances of success. Fear of success can be dealt with. If you find yourself worry about the negative things that might happen when you become successful, stop and think the other way.

Think of all the positive things you can do when you become the person you want to be. Think of the positive influence you'll have on other people. Then decide if the positives of being a successful individual are worth it. In most cases, it is.
