Are You Facebook Marketing? Better Be Using The "Comment" & "Like" Buttons

By: Bert McClure

Are your intentions for being on Facebook more of a business or social nature?

If your answer was primarily for business, then keep reading.

Currently Facebook is the second most visited website on Earth. If you are a marketer, and that doesn’t get you excited, you may need to check your pulse to make sure your actually alive.

With that being said, there are numerous features and options on Facebook to allow
it’s users to converse, connect & share with others. If you realize that the "law of reciprocity" is a very powerful force on Facebook, then this concept will allow you tap in the platform's business building properties. In lamens terms if you do “this” for someone they will usually
feel the need to “do it” back to you.

What I mean is that if you make nice compliments on someone’s picture, they
will more than likely do the same on yours. But the same applies if you never make comments on other people's video's, post's, or pictures, you could be ignored.

So this moves us to to valuable, but often overlooked features on Facebook.
These features are so simple to use that the average marketer will disregard them as ineffective.

I am referring to the "comment" & "like" buttons. As we are under going our Facebook marketing, never loose sight that we want our viewers interested in our content and interacting with us. So as more interaction occurs, the more exposure your getting from your audience, which results in more prospects wanting to know more about your business/service/products.

Do you see the how this progresses?

Facebook knows that this is a "give & take" relationship between users. This is why you want your daily Facebook activities to be spent reading other's content and clicking the "like" button if you really approve of it.

I'm sure you appreciate it when someone compliments your new haircut or outfit right? It is natural for human beings to enjoy receiving compliments and feeling obligated to return a compliment to the person who gave it. It is natural for human beings to enjoy receiving compliments and feeling obligated to return a compliment to the person who gave it.
Now don’t think that clicking the “like” button on every post is the answer to
successful Facebook marketing. It’s the same in authentic life, people will realize that you don’t mean it, so don’t overdo them in the social media realm.

The “comment” feature is similar but allows more flexibility and creativity for the user. Now
you can affix your own personal opinion to someone’s content. This can be optimistic, disapproving
or neutral, so weigh up what your going to say sensibly before posting it.

To take it a step further, if your smart, your comments can interest other people to
click on your profile to give yourself more exposure. This is an overlooked technique.
So be interesting, helpful and enlightening and this will draw others to your profile.

When the "comment" and "like" buttons are used daily in your Facebook
marketing they will foster relationships with others and generate a "buzz" of attention.

You will look like someone to learn about and follow. This, in the end,
leads to greater profits, traffic and exposure.
