A Voice Over And Your Marketing Plan

Connecting with your buying audience effectively is the main purpose of your marketing plan, but discovering which channels will work can be a bit of a crapshoot. Now that podcasting, webinars, and online advertising are creating new channels of communication, more businesses are developing slogans and messages to increase the presence of their brand. Radio and television advertising still offer many benefits, and each and every one of these marketing channels are enhanced with the use of a voice over.

Combining voiceovers to your marketing strategy helps to create a unique message and differentiate your brand. Whether you’re trying to lure your customers to buy something, present new information, or just entertain an audience, voiceovers can help you deliver your message in a memorable way. An effective delivery of you message assists in creating a powerful presence for your business; think about how effectively a jingle, slogan, or just one sentence can work it’s way into pop culture. Placing the right voice behind your message will literally “pump or dump” your marketing campaign.

The first thing to think about with voice overs is what your target market is like. Consider profiles such as age, ethnicity, and location. If you are marketing to customers in the South, for example, you may choose voice talent and marketing concepts that have key elements of Southern culture and a Southern accent. When your customers can resonate with the voice and message, they are much more likely to remember the slogan, message, and more importantly, your enterprise.

The second item to ponder is how you will hire the most appropriate voice artist. Voice over artists can be represented by an agent, or they may have developed their own webpages and online profile. Some voice over artist directories will also help you focus your search; these can be searched by age, type, background, or keyword so you can find a perfect match with less legwork involved. If you do decide to use a voice over talent agent, you might paying an extra fee for services. Never the less, the agent will hopefully help you track down a pro voice over artist who has experience in the field, and also a good list of recommendations.

The third thing to think about is how long you will want to hire your voice artist for. If your’re creating a marketing tactic that includes various marketing messages and promotions for extended periods of time, you’ll want to write a performance agreement with your voice actor. If you don’t want to keep switching voice actors and destroy the true “voice” of your image, consider ways you can negotiate payment for the long-term, and count on hiring the voice actor for more than just one project at a time. In many cases, fees are negotiable, and you can research current fees online so that you can make a compelling offer.

Voice overs are an excellent method to boost your image and extend a more professional image with your marketing campaign. From online-radio to podcasting, the voice over play a critical role in delivering the best message to your clients.
