Here are the basics of postcard printing:

a. Post cards are available in different sizes: 4x6 inches (10x15 cm), 5x7 inches (13x18 cm), and 5.5 x 8.5 inches (14 x 22 cm). You need to consider what size your postcard is. After all, the content of your postcard will depend on it.

b. Keep your message simple or direct. Nothing beats a direct or straight to the point message in getting people’s attention. On the postcard, highlight what the reader needs to know in a paragraph or so. Keep the text to a minimum.

c. Printing companies provide mail services which are either in bulk or even first class mail. You may also have the option to deliver it yourself. Either way, you need to have a database or a mailing list. You can go over your yellow pages to get this or you can get the services of companies who provide custom mailing lists.

d. Check the type of paper you need to use. There are different paper types, and not every of them is perfect for postcard printing. For postcards, it is ideal to print on heavier stock which is durable, but maybe expensive. You may also have to know what the difference is between coated and uncoated or whether you want your postcard to have a glossy surface or not.

e. Use font sizes that are large enough to read. Make reading convenient by choosing fonts that are easy to read for the average folk.

f. Think of the costs of postcard printing. You have to consider how much you will pay for paper as well as ink. Heavy weight stock is more expensive. However, the quality is unparalleled.

g. Postcards have limited space for text, so you really to write a captivating message. The image you use should also be engaging. You only have a limited space where you can promote your products and services.
